l USTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. NEW ZEALAND HOCKEY TEAM. SYDNEY, Aug. 1. The New Zealand hockey team were accorded a civic reception by the Lord .Mayor. Mr Norton, responding, said he lio|>od the present tour would result in useful missionary work Ix'ing achieved. If the game of hockey were established in the primary schools and then in the secondary schools, they could soon look forward to regular inter-Doininion contests between New Zealand and Australia.
The visitors opened their tour to ay against a fairly strong metropolian side in line weather.

The. scorers fur the winners wore Boyd and Hoapliy (Two goals each) and Watts (!). For the local team Ncflleton goalod.
