AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CARLE ASSOCIATION. N.Z. TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA. 'WELLINGTON, July The Council of the N.Z. A. A. A. inis definitely decided that a team ol six men be sent to Sydney to contest the Australasian cross-country championships, which are to be held on the Randwick Steeplechase course on August 15.
The Nett Zealand rule recently adopted, allows six men to start in the event, the first four of whom count for points. Mr S. Hall (Wellington) will accompany the team as manager. The filial .selection will be made at- the conclusion of the New Zealand crosscountry championships, which lake place'at Christchurch on Saturday next. The Selection Committee are Messrs Burnett. (N.Z. Council), Hall (Wellington), Taylor (Canterbury), and Clark (Otago). These men will view the race, and select the team for Australia immediately afterwards. The team selected will leave Wellington by the -Ma.rama on August 10, and will compete also in the New South Wales championships, which take place at Sydney on August 18.
BRITAIN V. FRANCE. EARLS. July 29. Britain beat France at an athletic meeting in Pershing Stadium by G 9 points to -12. Britain won all the footraces, hammer, and relay events. France won the discus throwing, high jump, and weight lifting.
