Ilislop moved the second reading of the Justices of the Peace Amendment Bill, providing for the appointment of women Justices, tile debate was adjourned on the motif’ll of the Hon. .J. Topi I’aluki. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. The House met at 2.30 p.m. In the House of Representatives the afternoon was spent on formal business and in discussing Ministers’ replies to questions. Tho evening sitting was devoted to Committee work. The Rent Restriction Amendment, the Insurance Companies Deposits Amendment, the Industrial and Provident Societies Amendment Bills were reported without amendment, read a third time and passed. The Immigration Restriction Amendment Bill wa.s amended in the direction of relieving all British subjects from the necessity of taking the oath of allegiance on arriving in New -Zealand. The Noxious Weeds Amendment Bill after a stormy passage, was reported without alteration. All Bills reported as unamended wore read a third time and passed. Tfio House rase at 1 a.m.
