ONGARUE ENQUIRY.
[BV TELECRArn rilß PRESS ASSOCIATION.] TAUAI ARUXUI, July 24. The .adjourned inquest on the Ongarue disaster victims was resumed to day before the District Coroner, Air Laird. Doctor Wei by Fisher, medical superintendent at the Taumaruiuii Hospital, gave evidence as to the work done to rescue and assist the injured. He described the arrangements made to get the injured to the hospital. Witness did not see any irrevcranco shown to the dead hut, on the contrary, even respect was shown. The suggestion might have arisen because attention had to he directed to the injured. Witness had made arrangement.s for all medical men to go to the hospital. Doctor Rathgaie left then to get refreshments after his arduous work. Dr Vivian informed witness that he wished to get away and said he was pro pared to return later. He exercised his own judgment in leaving or staying. He may have erred in judgment. It was certainly no desire of witness that lie should go.
