TI NNED OPENING. THE PROPOSALS. [itV TELEGRAPH —TER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, July If!. .Mr P. R. Climie, organiser of Canterbury Progress League, is in Wellington discussing details of the arrangements in connection with the opening of Otira Tunnel on 111; August. It is proposed to adjourn Parliament on the preceding Friday at p.m. so that members may catch the southern boat. A special train will take them from Lyttelton to Healey, arriving at the tunnel at 2 o’clock. The visitors will only have two hours and a half at the tunnel and will then return to Christchurch, where it is proposed to celebrate the occasion with a banquet. .Members will catch steamin' iat night for Wellington, returning on Sunday morning.
