When approached m regard to the above message yesterday, the District Trnllie Manager of Railways (Mr J. L .Morgan) told an “Argus” reporter that the Department had no ofiicial news of the opening of the tunnel. "We will let you know when the tunnel is to he opened, ' lie said, "as soon as we get ofiicial news.” At present, lie said, the tunnel wm open each day, for experimental work; hut anv work clone as far as he know was only experimental, and lie thought it would he so for the next, few weeks.
