AUSTRALIAN- AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION*. U.S.A. SHIPOWNERS. WASHINGTON, June 17. The National Merchant Marine Association of America, has declared, by an overwhelming majority vote, its opposition to the Government’s plan for tho Government operation of the American merchant marine, as cabled June 16th. The Association unanimously favoured the sale of the Government merchant fleet to Americans, on the most favourable terms possible; while opposing any sales to foreigners.
