WKLLINOTON, June IS The question of Sunday football wa-re-opened at a meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Luioii Executive tonight. A letter was received from the Boiler Union asking whether it has the power to make Sunday fixtures. Tim Duller Union contended (hat the matter of whether official fixturei should be played on Sunday, was a matter for purely local settlemem. At the matter was question it ua- referred to the Executive for a ruling. At to-night's meeting of the N.Z.E.U. Executive the .Minister of Public Works wrote that an interview with the Prime .Minister on the subject of the amount which Rugby 1 nions should pay in amusement tax was being arranged. The East Coast Rugby Union protested against a proposal to amalgamate the East Const and Poverty Bay Unions, owing to transport difficulties ami of isolation of the northern end of the East Coast The X.Z.W.R.U. wrote that an imperial eottlVrenee op Rugby matters has been asked for by i: to ho held in England.
