AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. SHIPPING CONTROL. OTTAWA, June 8. Mr La Pointo, Minister of Marine, has given notice that legislation will be introduced in the House of Commons providing that a foreign controlled company shall not become registered as the owner or mortgagee of a British ship in Canadian waters, unless permission to do so is previously granted by the Minister, and the Minister may prohibit the registration of any vessels, unless such, conditions as be may sec fit to impose have been complied with .
PRESIDENT PRAISED. WASHINGTON. June 7. President Harding has acknowledged a. letter from Bishop Gailor, bead of the National Council of the Protestant Episcopal Church, in which the President is praised for his attitude on the subject of the \\ orld Court. President Harding declares that, by accepting membership of the World Court, the United States may make its largest feasible contribution to the stabilisation of civilisation, while at the same time surrendering nothing of the advantages of independence enjoyed by the American people.
