Humphrey 'I ravers (Crown Prosecutor) said the prisoners were charged with conspiring by force of arms to compel a change in t.h<; constitution of the Irish Free State, and establish a Republic. Accused slight well have been charged under the Treason Felony Act, or even high treason. Accused made speeches in this country appealing for assistance to establish a Republic in Ireland. AlcOrntii, at Birmingham, attempted to arouse the passions of bis audience by calling the Free State Government murderers and doing the British Empires dirty work. Air Tracis said on him was found a pocket book containing elaborate instructions for the manufacture of fuses and high explosives, nlit. bow to destroy buildings by fire. Galvin was described as an officer commanding the “B” company of the Lnsll Republican Army in England.
