The jury returned an open verdict. BOXING COUNCIL. CHRISTCHURCH May 12. . The mail vote taken hy the Boxing Council to decide the locutions of North and South Island championships, resulted in the selection of Napier for the North, and Ashburton for the South. The Council decided to ask the Alinistei to amend the regulations in the direction of making it compulsory that the under-covering of the ring floor ho saddlers’ felt not less than threeeighths of an inch thick. Also that the Premier be asked to abolish, or reduce the Amusement Tax. •LADY JELIMCOE’S ESCAPE. ACC I, AND May 13. A double collision between motor-ears occurred in Park Road at 5.-10 last evening, when a ear came into collision with another containing Lady Jellieoe. The ears were locked together, when a third one ran into them, causing further damage. Lady Jellieoe escaped injury but the Hon. George Jellico? received a very slight cut in the head. The other occupants of the ears escap ed. A pedestrian received a slight cut from the flying glass. Both ears weie somewhat damaged. MAX DROWNED. WANGANUI, May 13. The body of Thomas Agate Warwick, aged 02, residing in Halswell Street, was found Heating in the river to-day. It is not known how lie got into the water, where lie had evidently been only a short time when the body was discovered. ACCIDENT IN THEATRE. WELLINGTON May 1-1. Another accident happened to the Pantomime Company on Saturday. Cannot, the comedian, tin's time being the sufferer. During the matinee one ;f the boards fell from above and the batten struck him on the head, gashing his scalp and rendering him temporarily unconscious. Ihe wound was stitched up. and he managed later on to sing one song. In the evening lie was able to reappear.
