In the Federal District Court, Judge Knox ruled void the section of the Volstead Act limiting physicians’ prescriptions to one pint of whisky per patient every 10 days. The Court granted an application hy a local doctor for an injunction restraining the Prohibition Enforcement Agents from interfering with him and seeking m prevent his prescribing any amount ol whisky which in bis medical judgment be considers necessary. MEN BURNED TO DEATH. NEW YORK, May 9. At Kerens, Texas, 13 men were burned to death by an explosion at a newly-sunk oil well, which a worker attempted to close. When the oil began to rush, friction ignited the gas and oil. resulting in vast pillars of II ame 100 ft. high. Attempts to extinguish the flame were unsuccessful.
