OVERLAND EXPRESS.
SERVICE INTERRUPTED
Word was received last evening by the Grey Railway authorities that there would be no train service to-day between Spring-field and Arthur s Pass The message came from Christchurch and it was stated that the line between Springfield and Arthur s Pass had suffered from washouts, and some of the tunnels bad been damgaed. A heavy snowstorm held up the express on Saturday, and the thawing of the snow was accountable for the interruption of the service. The mails for Canterbury were dispatched by the Opua last evening.
