TO NIGHT I PRINCESS THEATRE" TO-NIGHT l WESLEY (Freckles) BARRY in— WESLEY (Freckles) BARRY in—“SCHOOL DAYS.” “SCHOOL DAYS.” Better than “GO AND GET IT,” “DINTY,” or “PENROD.” Big supporting programme! Usual prices! Coining Wednesday and Thursday next:—D. W. Griffith’s masterpiece “ORPHANS OF THE STORM.” THE WESTLAND COOL STORAGE and CENTRAL DAIRY Coy., Ltd. (In course of registration.) TO WESTLAND DAIRY FARMERS rplIE PROVISIONAL DIRECTORS of the ntavo Company, re--1 spectfully notify l- all •whom it may concern, that the butter factory is to be erected in Hokitika, and will be in readiness to commence operations for the coming season on the Ist September, 1923. A few of the objects of the Company are as follows: Butter or cheese making, cool storage of goods and dairy produce for transmission to Christchurch markets, manufacture and sale of ice, fish and meat freezing - , and the establishment of a modern city milk supply for the town of Hokitika. Such propositions are quite beyond the scope of the ordinary Co-operative dairy factory, more especially when less advantageously situated to important railway communication with densely populated centres, and are the outcome of careful expert consideration. Hokitika, with all its great possibilities is eminently suitable for the Company's undertakings and is also ideally situated for centralisation of Westland’s dairy and agricultural productions. Mow that the tunnel is completed a new era of prosperity is assured for the coming “Taranaki of the South.’’ The Company will be managed partly on co-operative and partly on proprietary lines, the producer-shareholders holding the balance of power. Such a system whilst possessing all the advantages of co-operation will also additionally share with the initiative spirit so noticeable in all successful proprietary concerns. It is almost unnecessary to state that profits accruing from the various operations and side lines will very materially help to increase the price to he paid for farm products, and centralisation, as is well known all the world over, considerably reduces the cost of production. Tt can he truly said that- never in the history of farming in Westland has such a unique opportunity for superior co-operation in respect to factory matters, been presented to the settlers. It will be noticed the Company’s operations in addition to being in the best interests of the farmers, will benefit the district as a whole, and fill an urgent and long - felt want. In order to participate in the full benefits farmers and sup-, pliers not yet enrolled are urged to make application for shares now, as the list cannot indefinitely be left open, and also that arrangements may be made for them respecting the free universal cartage of cream system. Respectful exertions are now being made with a view leading to the combination of all local country factories, without loss to their shareholders and suppliers. Such, co-operation it is unnecessary to state would make the scheme a greater success, and in addition fulfil the wishes of a veiy large majority of their financial supporters. Full information may be obtained on application to the following provisional directors: — Messrs W. A. Jamieson, 11. Ilareourt and 11. H. Monk (Koiterangi), <T. H. Cropper (Waitaha), .1. B. Douglas (Arabura), Jas. Thomson (Ross), D. J. Evans and J. J. Mclntosh (Hokitika). H, T. PARRY, Managing Director.
