STATE SCHOOL WAR MEMORIAL.

I’NVEILING CEEEAIONA”. The granite obelisk erected in the State School grounds, Hampden Street, to the memory of all known scholars of the School who served in the great war, will le unveiled by General Aleldruin at 11.30 o’clock on Wednesday forenoon. The memorial is in-vribed with the names; of 170 scholars ol the Seim;'l, known to have served in the war a very line record indeed for tie loial institution. The memorial hears also the phrase ''Lest We Forget,” which is a. reminder to the scholars who come alter, cl the response made in 11111-11)18 when the Empire called.

It is intended also to remove the iron fence and substitute uu ornamental concrete fence which will afford a clearer view of the memorial. At the ceremony on Wednesday a special appeal is being made for additional fiinds.
