ROSS RAILWAY.

TIME-TABLE AMENDMENT DEFERRED. The "Westland Chamber of Commerce which made representations to the General Manager of Railways on the subject of restoring the old-time-table for the Ross line, lias received the following reply from Wellington, dated April 13th : “With reference to your letter of Otli ultimo to the District Traffic Manager at Greymoutli, and wliivn has been referred to me for attention, regarding the train service to Ross, I have the honor to inform you that when the new time-table is brought into operation upon the opening of the Otira tunnel, arrangements will be made to increase the service on tins lino to one train cadi way per day between Ross aud Hokitika. •‘The question of trains to serve the traffic to Lake Mahinnpua has boon given consideration, but as this is of small volume the running of a train on "Wednesday for tins purpose would not be warranted."
