OKURU NOTES.
(From an Occasional Correspcndeni.) The customary Faster Hate and Spurts meeting took place at Okuru oil April 2nd and did. respectively, and were followed bv a match between Bruce Bay and Okuru cricket teams on the Ith. The influx of visitors Irom the northern districts greatly assisted in the success of the proceedings. The weather which bad been broken for sonic considerable time, cleared, and beautiful sunshine was experienced on each of the three days meetings. The horse races were the first registered meeting held at Okuru. consequently the fields wore small. Nevertheless great enthusiasm was shown and undoubtedly the horses were run on their merits. The winners of the different horse racing events were as follows:
