BROADCASTED SERMON. SYDNEY, April 10 The first attempt in Sydney to broadcast it sermon proved suecesslul. Many ownors of private wireless outfits in various stibsurbs heard the whole sermon distinctly. The innovation which promises lo become popular, was madeat St Laurence Church in the city. Instead of the usual sermon the rector occupying the pulpit answered the questions oi another clergyman from the nave, acting as the people’s advocate and who keeps the discussion to definite, practical lines. A large congregation tit the initiatory service were frankly and keenly interested in the subject, "Easter and the Resurrection.” VITAL STATISTICS. (Received this day at 5.150 a.m.) MELBOURNE, April 10 Vital statistics of the Commonwealth for 1!)2'2 show the death rate was 0.2 per thousand, the lowest on record.
