This opinion showed that, according to the rules of the New Zealand .Boxing Council, the person or body it proposed to disqualify must first be informed of the charge or i charges preferred against such person or body, and called upon to submit a defence. The committee of the Council had ignored this rule, and the solicitor stated that the attempted disqualification can have no effect. The solicitor’s opinion was approved, and it was decided that ii the Council adopted a correct procedure in connection with the - disqualification, the Otago Boxing Association would lodge an appeal in accordance with the rules, and would be prepared to send a deputation to Christchurch to appear before the Council.
