Bowling Green is going to prove a very successful gathering judging by the amount of interest being shown. The ladies committee are making their arrangements capably and have secured substantial support. The attendance should prove of a substantial nature. There will he the opportunity of spending a couple of hours pleasantly, with afternoon tea and interesting competitions to amuse, and :ti the same time assist a worthy local movement. Every lady is welcome and where all assist, the effort is made so much the easier. Very good progress is being made with the rebuilding and drainage heme at the Hokitika Mental Hospital. The new administrative quarters are now well advanced, and the bakery quite on modern lines from a laboursaving and handling point of view-—is now in use. The culinary quarters will soon he available, and the staff accommodation shortly after. The buildings are commodious and will he faithfully built. All the material, including the joinery, is being prepared at the local works, where a very complete plant is installed. The new drainage system is also in a forward state, and will lie used in connection with the new buildings when ready.

A number of young Mormon missionaries are systematically working the different portions of the Wanganui district each day, distributing their propaganda and trying by personal appeal to induce the womenfolk to accept the Mormon belief.
