Irish National Concert.

Despite a wet. bleak night, Princess Theatre held a good audience on Saturday night for the Irish corn-oil organised to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. There was a well varied programme, and all the items were received hearl- ! ily by the audience. There were- many encores, and the brightness of the entertainment left little to be desired. ! Goodfellow, Stopforth, P. Crowe, C. Thorpe, C. Houston; (log Dance. Miss Alva McIntosh; Solo, “Come Rack to Krill,” l Miss K. Foster: Solo, “Hills of Done- ■ gal,” Mr Currie: Flute Solo. “Minstrel Roy,” Mr Gibbons : Solo, “Coolan Dim” Miss Jones; Solo, "Dear Little Shamrock.” Mr Kortegast. 1 The second half of the programme ■ was as follows:—Selection, “Hibernia” McLean’s Orchestra; Solo, ‘‘Kerry Dance,” Miss Gillooly : Irish -Jig. Miss and Master Gibbons; Recitation, “Shamus O’Brien,” Mr Coulson; Solo, ; “Sentenced to Death,” Mr Roberts; Piano Duet, “Irish Diamonds,” Misses Daly and Devanev; Solo, “Where the River Shannon Flows,” Mr T. Stopforth: Quintet, “What an Irishman Means by Machree.” Misses Jones,

Foster, Gillooly, Fane and Devanev; Vocal Duet, “Mother Machree,” Misses Jones and Gillooly. Miss Daly was the principal accompanist, discharging the exacting duties very artistically. Other accompanists during the evening wercMisses Kerridgc and J. Mclntosh, while Messrs C. Gibbons and J. Stopforth supplied obligato accompaniments to some of the vocal performances.
