AUSTRALIAN AN I) N.Z. CAIiLE ASSOCIATION. NEGRO RUNS AMOK. (Received this day at 10.30 a.m > NEW YORK, March 8. A telegram from Spencer, Tennessee, reports a- farm owned by Haston, Tennessee State Secretary, was the scene of wholesale shooting by a negro convict who had been liberated, on parole. The Negro called Hnston’s brother to .the door and wounded him and then fired at several persons who were rushing to the scene, wounding the Secretary’s mother and three neighboins. The mother will probably die. The others were severely injured. liaston’s sister-in-law dropped dead from fright when the shooting began. The negro escaped and is being pursued by a. sheriff’s posse.
