MOTOR CAR ACCIDENT.
ox christchurch road. j Ah accident happened yesterday j afternoon about a mile on the Otira | side of Aiekens. Christchurch Road to a : motor car driven by AIY Clements. It j ivas the now White LO-senter recently ! obtained, and was on the run from Ar- | tlmr’s Pass to Hokitika. There were II passengers on the car at the time, j Tb.o run from Arthur's Pass had been a | pleasant one. The car was going fairly dov.ly at the time, when in rounding a bend in ilm road, where it was fairly j level, tbo car went out a. little wide. j and the side of the road crumbled [ away, the car slowing down and over- | turning, falling about twelve foot be- ■ fore it pulled up in the scrub. The | passengers were thrown in a heap, and [ all were able to get. out. with the ex- ‘ ception of Aliss Pickott, who was held til! relieved. The hood of the ear he- ; ing up probably saved the passengers j from further injury. I

This morning it left Aiekens nil its own J iowi r for Christchurch to undergo repairs to the wind-screen and to the hood.
