Fire Alarms.
The firelicll rang out a vigorous alarm of fire shortly before 6 o'clock <>» Saturday afternoon. The cause of the [iliiriii was an incipient outbreak in tl„. Police Station, caused by a flame from a gas ring coming into contact with the wall, which caught five. Luekjl v the outbreak was quickly notice' and the alarm given, the flames being subdued before any serious damage was done. The Fire Brigade put in . a prompt appearance hut their services were not required. A large assemblage of townspeople also promptly gathered in the vicinity.
A second alarm was rung out oil Sunday morning about Ido unlock. 1 !, o bell at North Revell Street station rang out. the alarm first, which was promptly taken up the hell at No 1 station. The Fire Brigade promptly turned out hut the alarm proved a hoax, the Ml having apparently been rung by some larrikins.
