The House met at 2.30 p.m. BREACH OF PRIVILEGE. After the formal business was completed Mr Holland raised a question ol privilege by calling attention to an extract from a loader in the Christchurch ■■Press” referring to the recent debate oil the election of the Speaker The paper said "Air Holland, in a characteristically hitter speech attacked the integrity of the Speaker and spoke generally in a strain which suggests that his augmented party will make life in Parliament a record et violence and disorder.” Mr Holland moved and Air Fraser seconded, that these words be regarded by the House to a broach of privilege.

Alter a lengthy discussion, Afr ALi--sey promised ihut if Mr Holland would agree to postpone the discussion he would see he had an opportunity of bringing the matioi up again, even if iL took a week to see it through. On this understanding the debate was adjourned till next sitting day. MOTIONS OF CONDOLENCE. .Mr Massey then moved the customary motions of condolence with the relatives of the late Mr W. ’!'. Jennings and Mr A. E. G. Rhodes, deceased members, fhe motion was agreed to and the House rose at 3.10 till 7.30 on Monday when the debate on the Acldress-in-Eeply will lie commenced.
