LONDON, Fob. 8 A strong protest was made by Al-. lied naval authorities at Smyrna and Constantinople against the withdrawal of ships. Every means' are being taken to make the Turks realise this is a false move on their part and if they begin hostilities they will have only themselves to blame for the eonsequences. The cruiser Curacoa arrives at Smyrna to-day. There are four American destroyers, one British cruiser, a French cruiser, and gunboat, one Italian and one Dutch cruiser now at Smyrna. POLAND’S ATTITUDE. (Received this dav at 9.30 a. n.j AVAR SAW, Feb 8. General Sikorsky, speaking at Cracow said ho did not believe a FrancoGerman conflict would break out. but if it did .the Franco-Polish Treaty of 1919 would immediately operate.
