THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES.
Improving Finance. It is pleasing to note that the condition of the Consolidated Fund continues to improve. Revenue during last quarter was £1,198,0-54 better than in the December quarter of 1921. while expenditure was £-538.395 less, making a total improvement of almostone and three-quarter million. The < 'public revenue depends to n considerable extent .of course, upon the general state of the country, and trade and commerce made steady strides forward during last year, so that it is natural that the. Treasury should share in the prosperity.
