The Brunner district excursion arrived this morning about 11 o'clock. Unfortunately the weather turned out very inclement and the outing does not promise to he as successful as it would have been with a fine day. The visiting contingent vie not ns large as usual. There is an unusually long string of entries for the swimming sports at the Municipal baths on Monday night. The entrants include several visiting competitors from the north, thus ensuring ■first class sport. The fact that so many on tries have been received for the relay race, indicates iiow keen the competitors are. The management is making special arrangements for extra, dressing accommodation, and also to supply the competitors with vann drinks and light refreshments during the progress of the carnival. A visiting jade competitor will he competing in the open events which will add special interest to those races.
