Stout referred to the proposal to abolish the No" Zealand I niversity. stating that four universities and a free institute for any schools they pleased. would greatly increase the cost without compensating benefits. Also the degree status would suffer. He advocated a professorship of agriculture at Auckland with the use of the Agricultural Department scientists as teachers, and trainers in the industry. Tfo stated he did not intend to he a candidate for the Chancellorship again. ■
