13.1 i SCION STOCK MARKET AN IAI PROVED DEMAND. (By Telegraph.—Special ta Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. .Messrs 11. Matson and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday; Store sheep. A large entry mostly rape and store lambs, which sold well through I lie sale, lie,si rape lambs i rum 22s to 25s fid, store lambs from 17s lo 21s; best forward wethers up In 27s .‘id ; others from 22.- to 2!s; best voiing owes I rum .10s lo -17-: aged and inferior lls to 17s (id. The market was verv linn and dealers were the principal operators. Store cattle. A small yarding and comprised mostly of odd lots ot cows and hulls. No quotable lines were yarded hut all sorts met with a keen demand. Porkers—There was an over supply of pork. Prices were good up to the last three races. Light porkers 10s to -Its: heavy 45s to 50; average price 61d to 7d.
Baeoncrs —A good yarding, and the market opened about last week’s rates and firmed as the sale progressed. Light baconers made £2 15s to £3: medium £3 3s to £3 10s; heavy to £ I ; average price std to Od. Store pigs.—An average yarding and weatiers were about the same as last sale. Medium stores sold exceptionally well. Values were, wcaners 15s to 20s; slips 13s to 265; medium stores 2'.s to 375. No large stores were offering. Sows in pig, up to £4. Beef. A large yarding, luit the quality generally was very inferior and the market much about the same as last week, if anything slightly easier. Prime steers £1! 15s to £ll 10s; extra' to £l6 15s; medium £0 5s to £ll 10s; others £7 to £9; prime heifers £7 15s to £0 12s fid; others C! to £7 10s. Prime cows £6 16s to £3 10s: extra to £lO ss; others £3 15s to £6.
.Mutton.—A small yarding mostly ewes. A sharp rise on last week especially lor good wethers. Freezing buyers were unable to operate to any extent, and limited their purchase to light and medium sorts. Butchers were verv keen tor good stud. Prime wethers 34s to 38s; extra to 40s 3d. medium 31s to 33s fid; others 2is to 30s fid: prime ewes 29s fid to 32s fid ; extra to 375; medium 25s fid to 295; others 17s fid to 255. Fat lambs.—A fairly large yarding and the quality again was very irregular. There was no appreciable difference in last week's overall price, hut light and unfinished lambs improved somewhat ns the majority were bought l»v graziers. The average price overall was LOd to 10$d.
