The annual spoils meeting at Vral.ura took place hist Wednesday and proved a great success. The chopping contests were the great attraction of the day. and drew large fields, no le-.s than twenty competitors facing the start in the twelve inch underhand chop, eighteen in tin* fifteen inch, and thirteen in the upright chop, while lour pairs ,-tarted in the -awing. The close finishes in the above event- spoke wel. for the iiaiidieappers. while the startei got his competitor- off their marks in fine style, ft is the intention of the committee to considerably increase the stakes for the next meeting and they also ask for the continuance of the public support whirl) has been >o freely given in the past.
