Chemists Conference.
OPENS AT WELLINGTON
[by telegraph—per press association] WELLINGTON, Jan 11. The Conference cjommenced this morning, the New Zealand remits being held over until to-morrow. The conference this morning was restricted to discussion of matters before the Australian conference. President Bailey, in his opening address. said it was necessary that Australia and New Zealand should foster close, relations. Co-operation was very necessary in regard to defence and the Pharmaceutical Society must organise a scheme of training to meet emergencies. With this in view he submitted that apprentices should he specially trained to take charge ot their branch. In Army services sufficient attention had not been paid to phfiimaeentieal research. WELLINGTON, January 12. The Pharmaceutical Conference decided to-day to support a. scheme, for providing tuition at the tour Universities in botany and chemistry. The suggestion for the establishment of a central pharmacy college was negatived.
