Tramping Cluh have returned from a visit to Aft. Cook. No serious climbing from an Alpine point of view was undertaken, but the party had a most enjoyable time. After accomplishing one of the minor ascents on the lower ridge of AH Cook, three or four of a party who had separated from tbe guides rashly attempted to take a short cut across the Hooker river to the Hermitage. Most of the experimenters were washed off their feet but were able to scramble ashore.
