The Wanganui Rifle Association commenced the North Island Championship Meeting on Putiki Range 10-da.v, the uoatiier being beautiful till the last match was being finished, when the v, mil became troublesome. There were

The Putiki aggregate was won h|- 15. I J. King with 176, taking 65, E. Balliugi er and 11. limit with 175. taking 63 and 62 respectively. ! The Manawatu mulch was won by j il. J. King, G. Palmer (Patou) and .T. , Paterson ( Wanganui) being second and 1 third. Each scored 49’. The winner ami second man took 64 10s, and third ( took 63. The meeting concluded to-day, when Deputy-President Hunt (Suburbs) won - the championship with 356. It. A. i Ballinger (Peloiie) was second with 1350,, and (. O. Neale (Akarana) and President R. J. King (Opaki) tied for third with 319. I The champion team’s match was won ;by Oknwa. Napier was second. Petone j’liinl. and Opaki No. I fourth. Ilawern and Wanganui tied for fifth. The Hawke’ Bay match was won by I Ball (Linton), 47, 65; Higgs (New Plymouth). 47, 64; Braithwaite (Oknwa), 44, 63;.A. Neilson (Napier), 44, 63. The Masterton match was v.on by E. Hunt (Suburbs) 48, 65; Carter (Pe- - tone) 64; (Jiiiney (Petone) L'3; R. J. King 62. all with 47. 1 The Maryhank aggregate was won by Hunt (Suburbs) 439, 65; Rail (Linton) 1 £3; Minilhwaite (Oknwa) 13i, 62. The Tyro aggregate was won by Hall ' with 292, and the Returned Soldiers’ aggregate b.v Hunt with 314.
