He was startc for the London Jockey Club from 188. till 1890. Ho managed the Sandringham Stud, and was a member of U' Royal Victorian Order. GENERAL SIR G. AI. HARPER. LONDON. Dec 15. Tho death is announced of General Sir George Alonlaguo Harper, whose New Zealand Division recaptured Ha pantile in August, 1918. He was (rilled while motoring to Sherbourne, Dorsetshire, and his wife severely injured. Tho car skidded into an embankment and turned over, pinning them underneath. Licut.-Genernl Sir George Montague 1 Harper, K.C.R.. C. 8., D. 5.0., was fifty-seven years of age. He entered the army in 1881. became captain in 1892, licnt.col. in 1907. colonel in 1911. He served in South Africa, 1899-1900 (mentioned in dispatches four ; times, Queen’s medal, four clasps, i D. 5.0.) He served in the European j AYar from 1914 till 1918.
