THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES.
Thu Tradr Balance. Figures of New Zealand’s external trading account up to the end of October are now available, and they seem to he worthy of consierntion. In ten months of this year exports were worth £36,740.546 and imports £28,539.037. so that there was a favourable (trade. balancb of nearly eight and a quarter millions. This is very satisfactory, and in marked contrast with the position a year previously, when the excess of exports over imports was only three-quarters of n million.
