Twelve absentees to come. ELECTION ACTION. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec 12. The “Press” says:—lt is understood the election action, E. H. Andrews, v. Ij. M. Isitt. M.P., will not be proceeded with. The ease is set down for hearing to-morrow. The ,information was laid by E. H. Andrews (Independent Reform. oancJSdate for Christchurch North) against Mr Istt, who was charged that lie did, between the issue of the writ under the Legislature Act, 1908 and tlite close of cause to he published printed matter containing an untrue statement defamatory qf the said Andrews, and one calculated to influence the vote of an elector which matter was in the words following:—“lf he did, why was he so jubilant, when, at last induced by the promise of th« P.P.A. to pay liis expenses. Mi- Andrews determined to stand?” The proceedings were taken oiuler Section 158 of the Legislature Act. 1908.
