ARAM UR A STORE STOCK SALE. At tho above yards on Wednesday afternoon last, Messrs W, Jeffries anil Co. held a .special sale of store cattle. The yarding comprised 187 bead and included seven pens of well-grown bullocks, which made good prices compared with East Coast reports. The vendors (-nine from as far north as Barryown, Rapahoc, Awatuna, and Kawhnka. ami the Arahura. ('alley was responsible for a big percentage of the yarding. Tho principal buyers came from South Westland and Wainihiiiihi. ( unip>t it ion was keen for aM grown cattle and prices were if anything firmer than at the last salo for stores at these yards. Younger cattle, with the exception perhaps of heifers, were also in good demand. The range of prices were as follows:—f-yuar old forward s.h. bullocks. £8 to £8 12s" fid; do. good frames, £7 7s to £7 17s fid; 3 and 4-,vr old lighter sorts, £5 Ifis to £7 7s fid ; two to threc-yr. s.h. steers, fresh and good colors, £4 12. s fid to £4 JSs: 2-yr. and 3-yr old (empty) made to £1 ss; bulls an dstags made from £1 15s to £4 10s; old cows were hard to quit. Reynolds. 1 2-yr. steer at £2 17s fid; account R. Cropper, 1 2-yr. steer at £2 ss; account Muir Bros., 2 2-yr. steers ait £2 15s; account Y. Pfeifer, 3 steei-s at £fi, 2 hulls a £2.
