The lirehc’.l rang out an ah.nn th.s morning at 8.40 o'clock for an outbreak of lire iu the residence of Mr ,J. Fitzgerald next to the Central Hotel. The Fire Brigade very promptly had two reels on the scene but the services of the brigade were not req i r ed. T’o fire recurred between the ceiling and roof, but was discovered in its early stages and a few buckets of water at once overcame the danger the damage done being small. What caused the outbreak is a mystery as it was in the centre of the house and not near ally chimney.
