AMERICAN FEDERATION OF LABOR.
The American Federation of Labour representing 4,500,000 workers, expressed strong condemnation of Prohibition in its recent convention held at Denver. In the text of the Official Resolution regarding Prohibition, it was pointed out that great dissatisfaction is manifest throughout the 17.5. A. at the Prohibition Law: that many people were of the impression that this law would m t exclude the nation’s national beverage, beer: that the law had brought about wholesale manufacture ot illicit liquor, which resulted in Hie deaths of hundreds of citizens, and the impelling of the sight of thousands of others; that these conditions bad made the law vastly unpopular v. ,l’i the majority of oilixeiis. This great representative body therefor# declared itself in favour of a modification of the law so as to permit the manufacture and *ale of light wines and lioar. It also resolved to do everything in its power to have these modifications carried into effect. Sane official Labour condemns Prohibition; so dm reasonable folk of all classes. Yote Continuance. 89
