AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION KAURI’S CIIEAV ARRESTED. SYDNEY, Novemlxtr 22. Eighteen members of the Kauri’s crew were arrested at Newcastle on a charge of disobeying the lawful commands of the captain. SHIPPING TROUBLE. SYDNEY, November 22. The Union Company has made no further effort to secure a crew for the Makura. -It is unofficially stated that the view at the Trades Hall is that a veryserious dislocation of shipping will shortly take place, unless something unusual happens. The trouble on the Bonnnh (a State ship) has been settled, and arrangements made to sign on a crew.
OWNERS’ BREACH OF FAITH. SYDNEY, November 22. Seamen on the Commonwealth steamer Boonah refused to sign on in consequence of certain claims being refused last ATay. The refusal is a distinct breach of faith, as assurances were given in July that the Commonwealth line would not be subjected to the irritation of strikes.
THE MAKURA’S DELAY. SYDNEY, November 22. As the ATakurn’s crew failed to appear to sign on at tlie appointed time to-dav, the prospects of the vessel sailing to-morrow for Auckland are doubtful.
