ARBITRATION COURT. (WELLINGTON, Nov 16. Justice. Frazer stated in the Arbitration Court that the outstanding feature of the latest, statistics was the drop in food groups to the ,1918 figures. NELSON, Nov. 16 ' Nelson College cadets have been awarded the Rideliford Cup for the most efficient secondary school cadet unit in New Zealand. Scots College Cadets came second, and Hamilton High School cadets third. The trophy is a handsome gold cup, presented by K. Riddiford. The final examination was made yesterday, 'to determine steadiness, general discipline, drill and musketry knowledge. The musketry course was also taken into account. Tho examiners were Lieut Col Burgess, Major Henderson and (‘apt Conway, ol general headquarters. PAPER MAKING TREES. WELLINGTON, Nov. 17. A report just to hand from the Iniperiod Institute gives the result of tho examination of eight N.Z. trees for paper making purposes. Four were a species of fagus, one tiuva, one racemora. All were indigenous. The other two were pinus laricio and rudiatu, now being largely planted. All are considered suitable for pulp making, hut the pines on account of the prevalence of knots would require special treatment. The woods of other trees could he mixed, but the pines could not. COR INNA MAY GET CREW. DUNEDIN November 6. The call for a crew for the Corinna this morning was most satisfactory. The company hopes to dispatch the vessel to-morrow for New Plymouth and Nelson. No difficulty is expected regarding the Kamo and other ships.
