Mn Massey’s Cou.eaoues. The administration of the Departments by Mr -Massey’s political colleagues was woeful and perhaps the Prime Minister, when he stated that lie could run the country with six secretaries. meant that lie could run it hotter with six secretaries than with the political incompetents by which lie was surrounded. The waste, extravagance and neglect in some Departments was scandalous.—Opposition Speaker in Canterbury.
