MONDAY. NOV. mb. The Committee met at 7.3: p.tn. Present.—. Messrs W. H. Shannon. (Chairman). J. I.loyd. AY. Ric hards, J. King, D. Stevenson, A. AiLken. Rev Purcbas and K. .1. Preston (Hon See.) The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. IN WAR I) CORRESPONDENCE. From Canterbury Board in reference to dental treatment of school children. Received. From same, stating request lor subsidy on voluntary subscriptions had hot'ii sent forward.—Received. From Hon 0. J. Parr (Minister of Education) slating in (reference to proposal to establish a hostel that the matter had been refried to the High School Board asking them to look into the question of finance; and that no reply had so far been received.—Received.
From Inspector ol' Schools forwarding a highly satisfactory report of the result of operations at the school during the past year.—Received and a hearty vote of appreciation of services of the staff was unanimously pas-ed. From Electoral Officer applying lor use of South Spit school on election dav.—Received and authorised.
From South Spit School tcaclu r reporting average' nttcndancfe as 21.2 from a roll of 23; that some minor damage had been caused to the building and asking to be supplied with a flag for the school.—Received: application to lie nimbi lor a ling. From Hector (Air T. Irvine) reporting average attendance for month was 37t;.5 and roll number of 114. The had weather had affected the attendance; a quantity of plaster in tho porch had fallen down. -Received. It was resolved to refer the latter to the Education Board for attention.

bar of matters requiring attention. — Received and resolved to give tho required attention to tho mutters affected. Rev Rurcha-s and Air Richards were appointed visitors for thci month. 11l connection with the annual prize distribution the Chairman stated that tho Committee would he glad to receive donations of prizes from well-wishers. Several had already been donated. The question of the annual school excursion 'was mentioned and it \\ aresolved that a ballot of suitable locations he taken among the parents—tic following places to ho submitted:— Ross, Mahinapua, Kuniara Junction. Grey raceour.se and Ruiianga. Accounts were authorised for payment. The Rector reported that airangoments for the benefit entertain - mont being given by Mi; Ale Lean were in train, and the meeting terminated at 8 p.m.
