AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. VALUE POE: TANNIN. PERTH, Oct. 30. Exhaustive experiments have established the value of an . indigenous shrub as a tannin producer. The discovery is regarded as of high importance to the tannin industry. It is also claimed it is the only extract which makes furs impervious to moths and silverfish. Supplies of the shrub are inexhaustible. The government have granted a local company a concession over a large area of shrub country.

The fourth series of wool sales has commenced, with keen competition, all countries operating. Late rates were maintained.
FOUR MEN MISSING. SYDNEY, Oct. 31. Yesterday’s squalls were responsible apparently for four more deaths. Four men left in a boat oil a fishing excursion to Kogarah, and have not since, returned. The boat later was found capsized.
GALE DAMAGEMELBOURNE, Oct, 31. A gale swept the city on Sunday and caused heavy damage.
