FRENCH ATTITUDE. (Received this dav at 10.30 a.m.l LONDON, October 17. Tlie “Daily Mail’s” Paris correspondent states a striking change in the French official reparation policy may be expected shortly. The Government has decided that considerable - delay must lie granted Germany, before payment in raw materials as well as cash can begin. The correspondent has been informed privately Government will not oppose a- moratorium being extended till 1924 or even longer. Financial circles believe loans and short term bonds could be floated to get the reparation costs, provided Germany counter signed promising payment in five vears.

Mr Field: But what is the Government’s attitude? The Prime Minister: It will be for the new Parliament to give effect to the suggestion made by the Hon. gentleman, if it feels inclined to do so.
