• IJSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. STRIKE IN DUBLIN. LONDON, October 17. The “Times” Dublin correspondent says as a protest against the reduction of the working week from six to five days,' Dublin employees on the Great Southern Western Railway have struck. All traffic is suspended and stations are guarded by national troops. Owing to continued outrages and obstruction, the Company lias suspended Sunday services. . IRISH HAPPENINGS. REUTER’S TELEGRAMS. (Received this dav at 8 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 16. The Irregular commandant, Nulretan, whose daring exploits are widely known, was mortally wounded when refusing to surrender during a brisk engagement at Ballagliaderreen, East Mayo, which the Nationals encircled and searched. A quantity of looted goods was recovered. One hundred and forty prisoners escaped from the internment camp at New bridge barracks near Curragh through a disused sewage drain. Twenty-seven were recaptured.
