Hokitika Athletic and Cycling Club.
The general meeting of the above Club, presided over by Mr I). J. Evans, was held last night in Keller’s sample rooms, when the following business was accomplished. The report and balance sheet was read and adopted. Tbe total receipts from the date of inspection, 13th Feb. 1922, to 31st July, amounted to 920,'t 13s 9d, while tbe expenditure totalled 9185 (is Id, leaving a credit balance of 918 7s Bd. The donation of tbe P ramie rn ng Challenge Cup from tbe Barnett Glass Rubber Coy. was received, and it was proposed a letter of thanks be sent to the donors.
A vote of thanks and appreciation was passed to those who kindly assisted tbe Club with donations of trophies etc during the season. Resolved that a road race be held annually for the Boomerang Challenge Clip, first one to take place probably in .January. It was decided upon to join in with the Caledonian Society on New Year’s Bay and assist in running tin 1 athletic events of their sports meeting. lii a short speech the President referred in most eulogistic terms to tbe work in the past and the keenness of the (Tub in promoting tbe sport along in Hokitika and lie wished tbe Club every success for the ensuing season. The meeting then terminated.
