POLLARD’S PICTURES.
ANITA STEWART MONDAY. What is considered one of the leading pictures of tho year is “Sowing the Wind.” This is one of First National’s Big Five, and presents Anita Stewart in the heist role of her career. The offering is an adaption of Sydney Grundy’s story, and contains all the elements which go to make up a modern picture of ceaseless action. Miss Stewart by her finished performance in her portrayal of the character of an innocent girl whose mother is a “queen” of revellers in a notorious gun L’ : ng house, comm ends hearty..sympathy. The stow takes up the obstacles an evil fate may place in the way of a human being, before happiness can result permanently. The nj£st interesting phase of the story hinges upon the l girl meeting the man of her heart and her subsequent battles to have and to hold him despite her maternal antecedent. The picture throbs with strong dramatic scenes which are capably interpreted by a cast that deserves special commendation. Ralph Lewis, Myrtle Stedman, James Morrison and M illinm V. Mong handle roles most acceptably. “Sowing the Wind” is a photoplay which is said to he' thoroughly diverting in character. It is a study in the weaknesses and virtues of mankind. Tho supports are. Scenes at Washington Conference, American Battleship “West Virginia,” Immigrants embarking at Tilbury for the Antipodes. Scenes at the Signing of the. Irish Peace Treaty; and “Why ’I hey Love Cavemen” comedy (an excellent subject).

The long looked for Snapshots Company, is billed to appear for two night's at time Princess Theatre, commencing its season to-night. From previous reports, this is the best company that has ever visited Hokitika. Seats may bo reserved at Miss Mclntosh’s without extra charge. Tho Snapshots Comedy and Operatic GJompony, who, as Quality Performers, have earned a wonderful reputation through New Zealand. Their versatility is re markable No matter what the public tasty demands, whether it he grand opera, burlesque, clever comedy sketches, or the latest in dancing, these happy folk are able to supply it. Thus the coming season of the Snapshots become.- one of the mwst important events of the year. This talented Company, headed by the greatest ’comedian of the day, Leonard N 'bon. who alone is worth the price of admission, are alt artists of the hi-jli order in their own particular line.
