The Council met at 2..'10 p.m. The following bills were read a second time pro forma and referred to various committees—Slate Advances Amendment; Haurnki Plains Amendment; Fire Blight and Canterbury College and Canterbury Agricultural College Amendment. Hon MacGregor moved the second reading of bis Juries Amendment Bill providing for majority verdicts in all bnL capital charges. After two hours tlie debate was adjourned and tlie Council rose at 4.45 p.m.
THE HOUSE. The House met at 2.30 p.m. The whole sitting was engaged in discussing the Imprest Supply Hill No 4, which authorised an expenditure ol C 1.790,100. The Rill was passed without amendment. The House rose at 10.50 p.m. Thousands worth of eggs preserved last year with Sharland’s “Moa” brand egg preservative Eggs are cheap—preserve now. Costs less than Id ». dozen. Advt.
